Уильям Честер Джордан (William Chester Jordan; род. 7 апреля 1948, Чикаго, Иллинойс) — американский историк-медиевист. Доктор философии (1973), профессор Принстона, с которым связана вся его карьера, в 2008—2017 гг. заведующий кафедрой истории. Член Американского философского общества (2000)[4] и Американской академии искусств и наук, Американской академии медиевистики, член-корреспондент Британской академии (2018[5]). Отмечен Henry Allen Moe Prize in the Humanities (2012).

Окончил Рипон-колледж (бакалавр истории и математики, а также русистики, 1969). В 1973 году получил степень доктора философии по истории в Принстоне, в штат которого зачислен в тот же год и где ныне именной профессор (Dayton-Stockton Professor) истории, в 2008—2017 гг. заведующий кафедрой истории. В 2009—2010 гг. президент American Catholic Historical Association. В 2014—2015 гг. президент Американской академии медиевистики. Отмечен принстонской Howard T. Behrman Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Humanities (2003[6]) и Princeton President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching (2002[7]). Также удостоился Distinguished Alumni Award от альма-матер Рипон-колледжа. Почётный доктор права Гарвардского университета (июнь 2019[8][9]).

Шеф-редактор Приложения к Dictionary of the Middle Ages (Charles Scribner’s Sons, 2003).
